Welcome to the Urban Transport Project Website
The overarching goal of the Ghana Urban Transport Project is to improve public transport in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area by providing more and better public transit service to meet the needs of this growing region. Among the means chosen to achieve this goal are the development of a bus rapid transit system and the regularization of transit service throughout the region.
The efficient development, maintenance and administration of transport infrastructure and services are recognized as being critical to the socio-economic development of any country.
If the Ghana Urban Transport Project is successfully implemented, the general populace will benefit through better and more reliable transit service, operators will profit as more service routes attract greater ridership, and the government will deliver on its promise and mandate to improve public transport.
